EDPS opinion on the notification for prior checking from the Data Protection Officer of the European Ombudsman on PERSEO

EDPS formal comments on the Commission Delegated Regulations on "Data and procedures for the provision, where possible, of road safety related minimum universal traffic information free of charge to users" and "Provision of information services for safe and secure parking places for trucks and commercial vehicles"
Seconded national experts are staff members of national administrations who are seconded to the EDPS secretariat for a fixed-term. This allows the EDPS to benefit from their professional skills and experiences in the data protection field. It also enables national experts to gain valuable knowledge at the European institutions and bodies.
The procedure is that the EDPS directly addresses the national data protection authorities (DPAs) calling for applications. National permanent representations to the EU are also informed of the programme and invited to assist in seeking suitable candidates.
Candidates may not apply directly for this programme, but should do so through their employer, who continues to pay the national expert's salary during the entire secondment.
