In the context of the EDPS' second mandate (2009-2014), a new information brochure has been developed in the first half of 2009.
Aimed at the public at large, the brochure provides information on the competences and duties of the EDPS, the data subjects' rights, the role of Data Protection Officers and the procedure for lodging a complaint to the EDPS. It also contains tips and short explanations on key notions about the role of the EDPS and the protection of personal data in the EU administration.

Information brochures 2004
As part of an information campaign aimed at raising awareness about the creation of the new institution, two brochures had been developed in 2004: one presenting the EDPS from an institutional point of view, and the other one describing the rights of the individuals whose data are processed by the European administration.
These brochures are still available for consultation under the links below. However, please be aware that their content has been updated and developed in the brochure edited in 2009.
