Regulation (EC) No 45/2001 provides for a right of the EDPS to be informed about administrative measures which relate to the processing of personal data. The EDPS may issue his opinion, either following a request from the institution or body or on his own initiative. Article 46(d) reinforces this mandate when it comes to implementing rules of the Regulation, and especially those concerning the Data Protection Officers (Article 24(8)).
The subject matter is very diverse and ranges from very specific practices (e.g. using photographs collected for badges in an intranet and scanning of ID document photographs, etc.) to the above-mentioned implementing rules.
Examples of administrative measures can be found in the chapter on Supervision in theAnnual Reports.
