The EDPS Annual Report 2025 looks back over a year when our work was characterised by the operationalisation of our expanding mandate, guided by our strategic principles: Foresight, Action and Solidarity.

This year’s highlights include:

• the expansion of the AI Unit and activities;
• a record 145 legislative consultations;
• increased scrutiny of international data transfers and large-scale IT systems in the EU institutions, bodies, offices and agencies;
• analysis and foresight related to emerging technologies.

The EDPS Annual Report 2024 is about acting for the future of data protection, preparing for the diverse possibilities and risks that the digital landscape presents. 

Guided by our 2020 - 2024 strategy and its principles: Foresight, Action and Solidarity, the EDPS has: unveiled and taken steps to start executing its Strategy for AI,  monitored and analysed technologies, including AI- led technologies, advised EU-co legislator on upcoming EU regulations directly impacting people’s privacy and data protection, providing tools to EUIs to ensure their compliance with EU data protection laws, influence the development of data protection globally. 

The EDPS Annual Report 2023 presents the institution's demonstrated adaptability in the face of an evolving digital and regulatory landscape. 

The Report summarises key actions in the areas of Supervision & Enforcement, Policy & Consultation and Technology & Privacy. 

The Annual Report 2022 gives an insight into the EDPS’ activities to create a tomorrow that can effectively tackle the challenges of today.
