On the 8th of November 2023, the European Data Protection Supervisor organises a seminar on “the essence of the fundamental rights to privacy and data protection” at the European Parliament in Brussels. This seminar aims to provide an opportunity for meaningful exchange amongst stakeholders and to present a dedicated study.
The EDPS and INTERPOL co-host the 2023 edition of the International Organisations Workshop on data Protection. The event takes place on 24 and 25 October in Lyon at the INTERPOL General Secretariat.
On 23 October from 13:00 to 15:00 CET, in the European Parliament in Brussels and online, the EDPS organises a seminar dedicated to the ongoing legislative works on the European Commission’s Regulation Proposal on Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). This Seminar aims at giving a voice to all involved stakeholders, to discuss the various risks associated with this proposal and misconceptions around its potential effectiveness.
The European Data Protection Supervisor and European Data Protection Board trainees organise a hybrid conference on “the impact of Artificial Intelligence on data protection: ensuring privacy in the era of innovation” on the 7 July 2023, from 12:00 to 14:00, at the European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium and online. The EDPS and INRIA organised on 31st May 2023 an Internet Privacy Engineering Network (IPEN) event on explainable artificial intelligence (XAI). With this event, the EDPS wanted to stimulate a discussion in order to clarify the expectations regarding the XAI, its limitations and misunderstandings.
