Where a legislative or other relevant proposal is of particular importance for the protection of personal data, the European Commission may also consult the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) in accordance with Article 42(2) of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. In such cases, the EDPS and EDPB work together to issue a joint opinion.
