L'épidémie de Covid-19 met également à l'épreuve les droits fondamentaux à la protection des données et à la vie privée. Les États membres de l'UE, les institutions de l'UE et les Big Tech tentent d'explorer des solutions pour lutter contre la propagation incontrôlée du virus.

Pour ce faire, nous avons créé un groupe de travail Covid-19 pour suivre les développements et préparer l'avenir de la protection des données et de la vie privée après la crise de Covid-19.

When we started our work on the Strategy for the five-year mandate of the European Data Protection Supervisor, one of the first issues we discussed was whether it should be either a living document, ready to be changed or adjusted, or a robust, future-proof plan. 

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the EDPS has decided to activate its Business Continuity Plan. All EDPS staff will be teleworking from 13 March to 29 May 2020.
