L'UE a mis en place un certain nombre de systèmes informatiques à grande échelle, dont Eurodac; le système d'information sur les visas; le système d'information Schengen; le système d'information des douanes; le système d'information du marché intérieur.
La surveillance de ces bases de données est partagée entre les autorités nationales de protection des données et le CEPD.
Afin de garantir un niveau élevé et cohérent de protection des données, les autorités chargées de la protection des données nationales et le CEPD collaborent pour coordonner la surveillance de ces bases de données.

Look back on the events we have organised, such as the EDPS Conference 2022, the 50th EDPS-DPO meeting, and the International Organisation workshop co-organised with the World Food Programme.
The EDPS and the World Food Programme are co-organising the 2022 edition of the Data Protection Workshop within International Organisations. The workshop will take place on 12–13 May at the WFP premises in Rome. Topics to be discussed include data subjects' rights, data breach response, international data transfers, privacy risk management and disinformation.

The newly renamed Global Privacy Assembly (formerly known as International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners - ICDPPC) took place this year 2020 during the period from October the 13th to October the 15th. This year's event wasn't immune to the COVID-19 pandemic currently occurring. Consequently the place of the event, which initially was planned to be held in Mexico City, had to be changed to a virtual setting, making it the first time that such an occasion was organized online.
