Local Information Security Officer at the European Data Protection Supervisor

Georgios holds a PhD in Computer Networks and he is specialized in cybersecurity, encryption and digital ID. Since 2002, he has been working in large scale IT organisations in Greece and in the EU Institutions, as a security expert and IT security officer. Currently, he is a member of the Technology and Privacy Unit at the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), where he has worked since 2019. Additionally, Georgios is appointed as the Information Security & Cybersecurity Officer of the EDPS.

Cybersecurity Expert and Deputy Data Protection Officer at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity

Prokopios is a Cybersecurity Expert and Deputy Data Protection Officer at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). His focus areas are data protection engineering, EU Data Spaces and the EU Cybersecurity Competence Centre. Prior to working at ENISA in 2015, he was involved in several EU-funded research projects in the area of Information Security within the Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection. He holds a Diploma in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from the University of the Aegean, Greece, an MSc in Information Systems from City University London, UK and a Ph.D. in Privacy and Security in e-Government Information Systems from the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean, Greece.
