Convention 108 - Stefano Rodotà award

The Committee of Convention 108 is pleased to announce the launch of the first edition of the Stefano Rodotà award, which aims to highlight innovative and original academic research projects in the field of data protection.

This prize will be awarded in honor and memory of the Italian Professor and politician Stefano Rodotà.

The aim of this initiative is to advance the thinking on data protection and to develop related policies, while giving increased visibility to creative and quality projects from the academic sector.

Convention 108 - Cabo Verde and Mexico

On 1 October, Convention 108 and its additional Protocol regarding supervisory authorities and transborder data flows entered into force in respect of Cabo verde and Mexico, bringing the total number of Parties to the Convention to 53 countries. Together with the countries participating as observers in the Committee of Convention 108, it’s 70 countries that work together on the rights to privacy and data protection.
