Künstliche Intelligenz

Künstliche Intelligenz ist Realität und ist mit Navigationssystemen, Spamfiltern, Wettervorhersagen – um nur einige Beispiele zu nennen – bereits in unser alltägliches Leben vorgedrungen.

Auf dem Gebiet des maschinellen Lernens, einem Teilbereich der künstlichen Intelligenz, sind erhebliche Fortschritte zu verzeichnen. Die Maschinen lernen mithilfe komplexer Algorithmen, die es ihnen ermöglichen, riesige Datensätze zu analysieren und auf Grundlage dieser Daten Prognosen zu treffen. Parallel zur fortlaufenden Verbesserung der Fähigkeiten dieser Maschinen werden immer größere Datenmengen gesammelt und Informationen über menschliches Verhalten ausgewertet – all das stellt Herausforderungen für den Schutz der Privatsphäre und personenbezogener Daten dar.

Joint Statement on AI-Generated Imagery and the Protection of Privacy

Data protection authorities from across the globe have today published a Joint Statement on AI-Generated Imagery (the “Statement”). 

The Statement represents the united position of 61 authorities and has been issued in response to serious concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) systems that generate realistic images and videos depicting identifiable individuals without their knowledge and consent. The signatories are especially concerned about potential harms to children.

Data Protection Day 2026: Reset or refine?

Data Protection Day (28 January) celebrates the signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding treaty protecting privacy in the digital age. To mark the occasion, the Council of Europe (CoE) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) are co-organising a one-day event focused on new frontiers in data protection. The conference will explore the challenges and opportunities that arise when innovation and emerging technologies intersect with privacy risks and the regulatory framework.
